Aaron O’Connell, Pete Davidson, Omarosa Manigault Newman, The Williams Brothers, Ron Isley and Yolanda Adams were all in attendance for the Aretha Franklin Home Going Service on August 31, 2018, not to mention all of the friends and family.

It was said that Lebron James and Oprah Winfrey were supposed to be in attendance as well. As I watched I didn’t see the two of them.

But let us discuss the famous people that were there, and the incredible late Aretha Franklin’s body.

Now imagine if something tragic had happened while all these great people were present at this auspicious occasion. Especially with so much hate that runs rampant in our country today against African American people. Anyone else in this setting would have just been a casualty of war.

As I sat and watched the services, I couldn’t help but wonder how horrible this would be. I thanked God that everything went as well as it did.

You know our minds tend to wonder from time to time. But the hurt or horrific feelings we as a people would have to deal with if something catastrophic would have happened. I guess the rich and famous think about these same issues as well.

Yes I know they had plenty of secret service and police present, but one cannot say there is no way something bad could not happen, because there is always a way if one was determined enough.

Encourage Yourself: As I thought on the service of Aretha Franklin, these thoughts ran through my mind. I am truly grateful nothing happened. We as African American people had some really great people there that day.
