Double Lung Transplant, and Kidney

We met a woman at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church on Wednesday May 2, 2018 “Wednesdays In The Word.” This woman named Carolyn testified she had a double lung  and kidney transplant five months ago. She gave such a inspirational testimony that all I could do is cry. Cry, because I knew if God could do it for her, then He could do it for me. A lung transplant would be just the thing for me to breathe better. The ultimate answer to my Sarcoidosis and Pulmonary Hypertension.

We had just came back from Oklahoma City from burying my cousin, so we were exhausted. We left on Friday and returned to Houston on Monday night. When I learned that the church was having “Wednesdays In The Word.” Something they have twice a year, better known as a revival.  Some of the most incredible preachers come to Wheeler to impart their anointing and wisdom into the church as a whole. Giving the body of believers the necessary food to enrich their souls.

We were about a half hour late for prayer, which was okay, because then we wouldn’t have to take so many O2 tanks into the church. Especially since I am on a constant flow at 10 liters. I am now using the bigger tanks (E-Tank). In the last 10 months I have graduated from the “B” tank, to the “E” tank. Take note, that this is not a good thing. The bottom line is, it means breathing has become more difficult. More oxygen is required, and consequently bigger O2 tanks are needed.

The minister ask if any one has a testimony, so I raise my hands to speak. Afterwards this lady begin to speak as well. She informs the congregation that she too was on oxygen and five months ago she had a double lung transplant along with a kidney. She mentioned that her name was Carolyn. At that point she begin to give me words of encouragement regarding my own situation. I was over joyed by the testimony and at that moment knew that God was still in the healing business.

This woman proclaimed the goodness of God and all He had done for her, by giving her a double lung transplant. I found my self weeping, for I had almost giving up hope. I believed after 14 years with Sarcoidosis, and now the Pulmonary Hypertension. God would not heal me. I felt like the woman with the issue of blood. Know that as sad as it is, I begin to think that this would be something I would take to my grave. That I wasn’t worthy of God healing me. My faith had been crushed.

Isaiah 41:10 Things I had to learn:

We are called to suffer.  As long as we live in this world, there will always be sickness and disease. The good news is that Isaiah 41:10 tells us to be not afraid. “Do not fear, for I am with you; be not dismayed, I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My right hand.” When we need healing, we may become fearful that God has forsaken us. This is why we need  scriptures for healing. The scriptures are here to strengthen us.

Psalm 34:19

Deliverance from pain: Psalm 34:19 is a healing scripture; “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of it all.” A compelling message of truth.

Psalm 103:1

Psalm 103:1  A Scripture on restoration, praise, forgiveness and healing. “Praise the Lord, oh my soul; all my innermost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. Who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. He who satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.”

Encourage Yourself: May 4, 2018 I do believe that God hears my cry, and He is just and faithful enough to heal my body. I do have the faith the size of a mustard seed. I thank God for His blessed hope!
Double lung transplant is what Karen Rhone will be patiently waiting for, because of her Pulmonary hypertension and Sarcoidosis which both attack her lungs and make it difficult to breathe.
