We Are United By His Power

We Are United In The Power Of His Might

1 John 4:7-10
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

The God we serve is a God of love and unity; He yearns for us (the church) to live in harmony built on the foundation of Jesus Christ.
However, we can by our own selves do nothing; we will only live in unity through the help of the Holy Spirit who works in us. The earlier we see that our unity is more important than our individual church doctrines, events programs and political correctness, the faster we start enjoying the power of God in our lives.

The importance of Unity
In Acts 2 vs. 1-4
“2 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord[a] in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

The disciples were united before the Holy Spirit came upon them. The power of God we’ve experienced in our various individual spiritual races is nothing compared to the power of God will experience when we are united.
In Genesis 11, shows us we can do anything if we stay united, in verse five of the same chapter, God came down to see what the sons of men are doing. He knew nothing could stop them because of their unity; He had to break the bond that was holding them together.

Likewise, Christians can achieve more if we stand together. We can win more souls to Christ, if we are in one accord and allow the Power of God to flow in us just like in the day of the Pentecost.

How to be united by His Power
Love: Love is the only way to be united; a genuine love for God and His people. 1st John 4:8 says “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” God and love go hand in hand. You cannot claim you love God, and yet hate your brother. 1st John 4:20 “If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can[a] he love God whom he has not seen?”

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: When we genuinely love people around us, living in one accord won’t be a problem. May the love of God continue to flow through us in Jesus Name, Amen.
