Sin and death defeated by His Mercy

In the beginning, it was not so… the first man enjoyed life in abundance; until the fall. Everything was set loose; man has to toil before he can get meat for his family and finally death. He has no control over death because that was his curse.

We were separated from our Heavenly Father; we were under the law. Until Jesus Christ came; he came to return us to the state of Eden, to reconcile us with our Heavenly Father.
Isaiah 53:7 “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep, before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”

Philippians 2:6-8
“6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
Let’s me point this out really quick; the devil did not understand Christ’s mission on earth, if he had, he would not have allowed the crucifixion to have taken place. The redemption power we enjoy today is because of Christ. He allowed Himself to bridge the gap between man and God. Hallelujah! We are saved!

The death of Christ opened the infinite source of mercy for us; through death, He went to hell to conquer and defeat the devil. He collected the key of death from him, and today, the devil has nothing but tricks to deceive God’s people.

Hebrews 2:14
“14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”
Isn’t it wonderful? Today the devil has no right to threaten us because of our past mistakes because the Lord Jesus has the key of Life and death. Revelation 1 17-18
“17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

How refreshing to know that God’s mercy and grace is available to us all. 2 Timothy 1:10 “but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”

How to enjoy the new found victory over sin and death
Romans 6:12 “12 Do not let sin control the way you live; [a] do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.”

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: The good news is, we have a choice; no matter how tempting it is to sin against God. It is possible not to do contrary to God’s will and ways. Christ has paid the price in full, sin and death is defeated by His mercy. Romans 6:14 praise God; we are free!
