A Preacher Who Lacks The Anointing Or Wisdom

In a world where different doctrines are preached, several “God’s Chosen” are erupting from all corners of the earth, one needs the help of the Holy Spirit to discern which is the way to follow; we need to go back to the original source of truth… the Bible. The Bible is the oldest book, but with the latest solutions to all our challenges. Before we move on, read this, and let the Holy Spirit show you the secret behind the verse.
Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

First of all, do preachers lack the Anointing or Wisdom? It may come as a surprise to you, but the answer is yes!

First Samuel 9 vs. 15-17
“15 Now the day before Saul came, the Lord had revealed this to Samuel: 16 “About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him ruler over my people Israel; he will deliver them from the hand of the Philistines. I have looked on my people, for their cry has reached me.”
17 When Samuel caught sight of Saul, the Lord said to him, “This is the man I spoke to you about; he will govern my people.”

The Bible clearly states that God picked Saul; He chose him as the leader of Israel and instructed Samuel to anoint him. If you read the book of Samuel, you will see how “God’s elect” ended. The baton of leadership was passed from him to David.

What happened to Saul means that the anointing upon a preacher or any child of God’s life can go stale, some preachers don’t want to believe this, but it is the truth. Furthermore, just because a preacher missed it today doesn’t mean he wasn’t called by God, the problem is, he missed it along the way.

James 4:6
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Pride is one of the key reasons preachers lack the Anointing; pride is one of the deadliest diseases that can prevent us from asking, and when we don’t ask, we don’t receive. James 4:2 “2 Ye lust, and have not; ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain. Ye fight and war, yet ye have not because ye ask not.”

The rise and fall of Saul are enough to caution any believer today; we need the help of the Holy Spirit in every aspect of our lives. No matter how inconsequential you feel it is, God is interested in you. He wants to guide you; you can’t survive this World without His guidance. Praise God! How refreshing to know that God is interested in your ministry. Friend, before you were born He knew you (Jeremiah 1:5), He chose you (John 15:16). Being a Christian today wasn’t your plan, but His. That is enough to show you that He loves and cares for you.

At the beginning of this teaching, we read Proverbs 4:7; the verse shows us how vital wisdom is, we all need wisdom. It is worth more than gold, silver or any precious things you can think of. As a minister of the gospel, you need God’s wisdom to lead His people He has given you. A preacher who lacks wisdom will easily fall to the devil device. “But I still heal the sick, I raise the dead… the Anointing is still with me. I don’t need God” if you still think this way, I am afraid that you missed it a long time ago. Just because you preach and people get “gingered” or excited about your teachings does not mean God is there with you. It will only take a matter of time before people notice how “stale” your message is.

How to know if you are in the right place
1. As a member of a church, how deep is your relationship with God since you started worshipping in the church? Has there been any growth in your spiritual life? Proverbs 4: 18 “ But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
2. Do they study the Word of God? In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1-5 “2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” We Christians need the Word of God to overcome this world. The World of God is light Psalms 119:105
3. Do they preach Jesus Christ? John 14:6 “Jesus said unto him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” There is no other way to get the Father except through Jesus Christ. Any preacher who teaches his God’s sheep any other ways but Jesus Christ lacks the Anointing or the Wisdom of God.

How to get the Wisdom of God
There are four kinds of wisdom; earthly wisdom (common sense) Intellectual wisdom, Devilish wisdom and the Winning wisdom. We will talk more about the different kinds of wisdom another day, but let’s focus on the Winning Wisdom.

The Winning Wisdom is from above – Job 28:12-15 “12 But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?
13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
14 The deep saith, ‘It is not in me’; and the sea saith, ‘It is not with me.’
15 It cannot be gotten for gold; neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.”

In verse 28 of the same chapter “And unto man, He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord: that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” The only way to gain access to the Wisdom of God is through obedience- what Saul failed to do that caused him his throne.

Seek God
God resists the proud; the humble will He teach His ways. Don’t let pride rob you of God’s blessings. The reason you are heading the church is because He called you, you need Him to be an impactful and a successful leader. It is never too late to go back to Him for direction; He is waiting for you. Retrace your steps and bask in His grace and He will teach you His ways and show you everything you need to know. God bless you.
